The Bench, on your terms
Being findable shouldn't mean being exposed. Here's exactly what employers see when you opt onto the Bench, what stays private, and what happens when one of them wants to meet you.
WHAT THEY SEE A callsign and the facts — never your name
When you opt onto the Bench, employers see a card built from your profile: your callsign, your exact clearance label, your certifications and specialties, your experience band, and your region. Your legal name, your contact details, and your salary expectations are not on it. The public bench page shows a ranked preview; verified employers search the full bench inside their portal — both are callsign-only.
- Exact labels, clearly marked. Your clearance shows exactly as you attested it — and it's labeled candidate-attested, because honesty is the product.
- “MTM-reviewed” means a human looked. When our staff reviews your attested clearance and certs, your card carries that mark. We never call anything “verified” — that word belongs to the government systems that actually verify.
- You control the switch. The bench toggle is in your Career profile. Off means invisible. On means findable. Nobody flips it for you.
WHEN AN EMPLOYER BITES Requests come to us — you decide
An interested employer doesn't get your inbox; they get a request form. They must name the role and log a compensation range before the request even reaches our desk — requests without comp don't reach our people.
- We relay, you choose. MTM brings you the opportunity with the logged details. You say yes or no. Only a yes creates an introduction.
- The employer's number is on record. The comp range they stated is logged with the request — you negotiate from what they committed, not from a guess.
- No cold contact, ever. Introductions come through MTM. That's the model, not a feature flag.
YOUR CLEARANCE DETAILS Deep details only after real engagement — and never your SSN
Your clearance level is on your card. The deeper details — granting agency, investigation dates — surface only after a real engagement is underway, to the employer's own security officer. And the verification itself stays where it legally lives:
- Their FSO verifies in DISS, the government's system of record — directly with you.
- MTM never stores or transmits your SSN or date of birth. We record only that their security office attested the check, and when.
- That's by design. The less of you that sits in anyone's database, the less of you that can leak from one.
STAY FRESH A live card beats a long one
Employers filter for people who are actually available. Two habits keep your card at the front:
- Confirm availability when prompted — the confirmation date shows on your card, and fresh beats stale in every search.
- Finish the profile. A complete profile is what makes you matchable when a requirement sheet runs — half-filled cards lose matches they should have won.
